　1916年のReal Mother Gooseの挿絵を描いたBlanche Fisher Wright がどういう人か気になったので、調べてみました。日本語のページでは見つかりません。

　とりあえず彼女の挿絵を載せた本がさらにGutenbergで出ているのに気づきました。

GoodyサイドとNaughtyサイドに分かれていて、goody sideがふつうの本のカバーの方から、naughty sideは裏カバーから始まり、本のまんなかで二つの話は終わって、"turn over" （ひっくりかえす）と書かれています。（TURN-AROUND BOOKというやつ）

NurseryRhymesOnline.com　はこの詩を拾っています。柳の木というと "Bury Me Beneath the Willow" ("Bury Me under the Weeping Willow") （このYouTubeはブルーグラスだけれど、もとはイギリスの民謡のはずです）みたいに死と結びついた不吉なものだと思っていたのですが。それをひっくりかえした感じなのでしょうか。「柳の木の下に私を埋めて」では「眠っている場所がわかるように」というのでした。
